Bengaluru BBMP Election to be held on March 28, 2010

BBMP has finally taken a deep breath and declared the date for the election for the year 2010 which is after 3 years of it dissolution.
It has gone through all kinds of ups and down for the election commencement.
After the Supreme Court, handing over the issue to the High Court for the Bangalore BBMP election related matter. State of Election Commission has decided to go for election on March 28, 2010
BBMP had only 147 wards till last year and now it has increased to 198 wards. This Bangalore BBMP election is going to high end, with many citizens looking forward for the new representative and work they are going to perform after and before the election.

Mahavir Jayanthi on March 28
BBMP has decided the election date on March 28, which is a National holiday, celebrating Mahavir Jayanthi.
Jain Community has put forward the petition to the Court and also the Election Commissioner for fall of Mahavir Jayanthi on the same day of Election.
We would need to wait and watch what the decision will be taken by State and Election Commissioner.

BBMP Election goes Hi-tech - Braille fitted EVM
Come this Election, BBMP is going out with technology for all the Election ward decided during process.
For the first time, visually challenged can vote using the Braille fitted in Electronic Voting Machine.
The State Election Commission is going to come out with a manual created for the citizens, will be able to access all the information from the SEC website.
If you are looking out for your name in the voters list this time to vote in BBMP Election. Then visit the BBMP Election website, which is updated and provide all information about the schedule.

BBMP Election - Nomination Filing Update
BBMP election is full fledge with filing of Nominations for all parties.
BJP as supported for the Women Bill in the Parliament, has now gone forward supporting Women and youth to file nomination for this BBMP Election.
JD(S) is the first party to release the list of candidate for the 48 wards which they will be contesting on.
BJP has also released a list of 154 candidate for this BBMP Election with 40% of them being youngsters.

Less Turnout of Citizens for BBMP Election
BBMP election have ended the Government is very disappointed with the total turn out of the Bangalore citizens for the Polling booth.
Neither any of party have expected this from any of the citizens of Bangalore for this kind turnout.
All over the Bangalore the total turnout for BBMP Electionwas only 44%.
What does this mean?
Bangalore citizens are not interested in Election any more.
Bangalore citizens only like to complaint about their wards. When they Government needs help they do not turn out.
Are Bangaloreans only holiday freak that they thought if they walk to polling booth, they would loose their prestigious one Sunday.
