Switch to Vodafone cell phone service in Bengaluru without changing your mobile number

The Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service in India enables you to switch your mobile phone service operator without changing your current cell phone number. So if you are based in Bangalore and wish to switch over to Vodafone cell phone service, you can do so while retaining your mobile phone number. 1. Visit a Vodafone Store or Mini Store, along with following documents:
(i) Vodafone Mobile Number Portability form (this is available at any Vodafone Store)
(ii) Vodafone Customer Agreement form (this is available at any Voafone Store)
(iii) Your self-attested photograph
(iv) Proof of address (any one) with your signature. If you are a Postpaid customer porting in to a Postpaid connection, you also need to submit the first 2 pages of your last paid bill.
Option: You can make an application for MNP online at the Vodafone website.

2. SMS 'Port XXXX (your existing 10 digit mobile number)' to 1900 from your current mobile number.
3. You will get an 8 digit code through SMS.
4. Give the 8 digit code to the Bengaluru Vodafone store executive. A new Vodafone SIM card will be issued to you when you make your porting request.
Very Important: Remember to back up the contacts and the messages stored on the old SIM card before making the porting request!
5. You will get an SMS confirming your Port order.
6. Next, you will get an SMS confirming the date and time of porting. This could approximately 6 days. The exceptions are J&K, Assam & the North Eastern regions where it will take 10 days from the receipt of porting clearance from the donor operator (mobile phone operator that you are leaving)
7. At the scheduled date and time given to you, you must replace your old SIM with your new Vodafone SIM and dial '123'.
