Applications are invited for pre-matric scholarship from gokdom for the year 2012-2013.


Apply for pre-matric scholarship 2012-13, governed by the "Government of Karnataka Directorate of minorities(gokdom)" for students from class first to tenth standard both freshers(applying for the first time) and renewals, to apply for scholarship online for the year 2012-13 before July 31st 2012.

Directorate of Minorities, which recently sanctioned scholarships for meritorious students for the year 2011-12 are now back again to accept applications for the coming year 2012-13. While many students who have been sanctioned have not received the amount due to delay in opening bank accounts in student's name. However, the amount will be transferred as soon as the bank account is verified and activated.



Although parents are eagerly waiting for the amount to be transferred soon into their children account, the directorate of minorities has given a last date of july 31st 2012 for applying for the next year 2012-13. Applications submitted after july 31st will not be considered. Hence it is advisable to the parents to divert their attention from waiting for the previous year scholarship and start applying for the coming academic year. In short, the procedure to apply online is to visit Gokdom(right click here and click open in new tab) and download the application form for the year 2012-13 for "pre-matric scholarship". You can also download the from directly from this site by right-clicking Here-Pre-matric application form for 2012-13 and select "save link as" and select a location on your computer in order to download the form. After downloading, take a print out of the form. Then fill in the details in capital letters and submit the same to the principal of your respective schools. The principal will send these applications to the Block Education officer, who will then finally submit it to the Directorate of Minorities.
Please note that students or parents are not allowed to submit forms directly to the office, as it won't be accepted. The procedure explained above must be followed.

Procedure to fill the application form for freshers who will be applying for the fist time:


Here I will try to help all those students who are not familiar with the process of submitting application form online. I will guide step by step as present in the form.

  • The first box asks for the details of the studnents parent names, fathers occupation and household family annual income(yearly). Fill up in block letters.
  • The second box is regarding date of birth, place of birth, gender, religion and nationality. Fill in the requried fields. Remember that this scholarship is only for minority communities, so non-minority community applications won't be accepted.
  • The third box is regarding School details. Write in your full name of the school in capital letters along with its address. In the field TALUK it should be mentioned which zone the school area comes under. It should be either North or South. Example, if your school comes under bengaluru north zone then fill as Bengalure North.
  • Next box is about academic and fee details, fill in the required fields correctly and honestly.

The next section is for Renewals. However, for freshers I suggest to open an account in student's name(if enough time is available) on your own and enter the details of the bank account in the bank details section. This will speed up the sanction of your scholarship once it's announced and it will be directly transferred to the account, without having to wait and create a new student account from syndicate bank and wait another couple of months to receive the fund.



If you do not have the caste and income certificate, then you may get the data typed on a non-judicial stamp paper on rs 20 only". The stamp paper should have the same sentences as given in the affidavit format and should be notorized and attach it with the main application form.

Documents to be enclosed along with the application form are listed at the bottom of the form. Pin in all the documents along with the application form and submit before 31st July.
